About the Position

We are looking for a motivated punctual candidate with experienced Driver to join our IkanAdapt project team! As a Driver, you will be responsible for driving our project staff to their destinations. You will also be responsible for making sure the vehicle is always clean, our priority is to make staff feel comfortable while traveling and that’s where you come in. Drivers are responsible for supporting the IkanAdapt project team to deliver the project implementation in a timely manner, working on nights and weekends and ensuring that vehicles are always ready for use, among other duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • Transporting project staff from Dili to project target municipalities.
  • Transporting project staff from airport to hotels and to airport.
  • Transporting admin and finances staff from Office to bank.
  • Carrying out vehicle maintenance checks.
  • Delivering packages to project office in targeted municipalities in a timely manner.
  • Picking up office purchases or other administrative needs.
  • Maintaining an organized vehicles registration to make sure the registration does not expire.
  • Ensuring that vehicles have sufficient fuel and are always ready for use.
  • Arranging for vehicle repairs when necessary.
  • Updating monthly mileage records through logbook.
  • Performing inspections of vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

This job might be for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with project leader and project staff including partner working group.
  • Basic communications skills in English.
  • Fluency in Tetum language and local languages according to site location.
  • A clean driving record with no traffic violations.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years relevant experience working with Agencies or NGOs in Timor-Leste.
  • Extensive knowledge of the operating area.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills as mechanic.
  • Proficiency in using GPS devices.
  • Appropriate on logistical support

Benefits

This position is ONLY open to citizens of Timor-Leste. WorldFish offers a competitive remuneration package including comprehensive benefits (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, employer provident fund contribution, paid leave, and others. The duration of the contract will initially be for a two-year period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance.
